Memorable Awards & Musical Gala It was the third time in three years when PHD Chambers of Commerce and Industry organized the star-studded cultural extravaganza ‘Gata Rahe Mera Dil’. Mukesh Gupta, a famous media personality and Chairman of Tourism Committee at PHDCCI, is credited to have conceived this programme.

Envisaged as an award function, where the doyens of the film industry, singers, musicians and journalists are felicitated for outstanding contribution to their respective field, the programme has evolved as a much-awaited event for its glitz, glitter, entertainment and star value. Annually organized in the Capital, it is one of the few cultural shows which create extraordinary buzz among Delhi’s music lovers. The excitement can be measured from the fact that despite meticulous arrangements and planning, long queues outside the venue of the Siri Fort Auditorium were seen before the start of the programme.

The third edition of the annual show that took place in the evening of 24th November 2017 surpassed its previous records in every respect. Mukesh Gupta, who enjoys enormous media experience and personal contacts, puts in all his effort to make the occasion a grand success.

Lifetime Achievement Award to veteran actress Sharmila Tagore was given away by Dr. Jatinder Singh, Union Minister & Manoj Tiwari, MP & President Delhi BJP in the presence of eminent Judges and Legal Luminaries along with PHD Chamber’s President, Sr. Vice President and Vice President, Gopal Jiwarajka, Anil Khaitan and Rajeev Talwar including its Chairmen, Mukesh Gupta, Rakesh Gupta and Co-Chair Arshad Shawl & Priya Hingorani and PHD Chamber’s Secretary General, Saurabh Sanyal. Special Award was conferred on Film Maker Muzaffar Ali for his outstanding contribution to promote and propagate arts, fine arts and literature.

This musical evening witnessed Bollywood Musical Stalwarts Usha Mangeshkar, Prem Bhatia, Kavita Seth, Ankit Tiwari, Rahul Vaidya, Akriti Kakar, Manmeet (Meet Brothers) & actress Sukhmani Lamba. Each of them was felicitated with PHD Utkrishtata Sammaan.

From the realm of journalism, Kadambini Sharma (NDTV), Shereen Bhan (CNN-IBN), and Utpal Kumar (Mail Today) received PHD Utkrishtata Sammaan. The evening started with the live musical performance by Prem Bhatia singing timeless classics “Akele Akele Kahan Ja Rhe ho” and “Pookarta Chala Hun Me”. Usha Mangeshkar obliged the audience and sang a devotional song “Jai Santoshi Mata”. Actress Sukhmani Lamba presented an astonishing dance performance and received audience’s loud applause. The new singing sensation Ankit Tiwari ruled the heart of the audience crooning his popular tracks “Galiyan” and “Sun Raha Hai Na Tu”, following which the hall filled up with shouts asking for more. Akriti Kakkar made audience dance when she rendered her famous song “Saturday Saturday”. Indian Idol fame Rahul Vaidya gave a soulful performance on “Mere Rashke Qamar”. MP & President Delhi BJP Manoj Tiwari charmed the gathering by singing a few lines of hit Bhojpuri number “Lagawe jab tu lipstick”. Kavita Seth and Manmeet Singh (Meet Brothers) were among others who made it a memorable evening.

Besides many well-known personalities of industry and business, the program was attended by PHD Chamber’s President, Gopal Jiwarajka, program coordinator & Tourism Chairman Mukesh Gupta, Sr. Vice President Anil Khaitan and Vice President Rajeev Talwar, Chairman – Media Committee Rakesh Gupta, Co-Chairman Arshad Shawl, Justice Mukta Gupta..
